In 1992, Nick and Ann Harris decided to diversify from pure farming and move into the 'Horse World' and started with a Cross Country schooling course. This was designed by the late Bill Thompson, who designed courses at Burghley and for major European events. They successfully ran Hunter Trials for six years. In 2001, the equine side was expanded further with twelve new stables converted from an old Dutch barn.  2002 saw the expansion continue, with the building of a 60m x 45m floodlit arena, this provides the perfect riding surface in all conditions;  in 2003 they added a second floodlit 50m x 30m arena.

Evening and weekend competitions then began giving pleasure to many local and regional competitors. Affiliated Dressage arrived in 2003, with the Equestrian Centre holding monthly competitions from February through until November each year, at a standard of Preliminary up to Advanced Medium. In August 2007 the centre was awarded a two day Area Festival for Affiliated Dressage from British Dressage, and a fantastic weekend was had by all.

January 2014 is the dawn of a new generation! Ben and Laura Harris, son and daughter in-law to Nick and Ann, are diversifying again and will continue the legacy. Although the competitions have now stopped the livery yard has recently had some major improvements and additions to make our clients and horses experience with us even better and we hope to welcome more new people in the future.
